DONATIONS
We are asking for donations to grow Hay Regenerative soils cic to invest in essential community composting infrastucture & develop a replicable model for ecological humus production to green our landscapes. Donations will only be spent on improving our community composting infrastucture, education & training.
We are very new and still at the very early stages of this not for profit and every little bit of support truly helps and we thankyou in advance!
CARBON
its not just food waste that goes into the tumbler, we need to add carbon too. We are hoping to get a cardboard shredder in the near future (if you happen to know of one being chucked out throw it our way) but until then we are collecting wood chip from local sources. If you happen to have surplus of this material and want it gone, please feel free to get in touch and we' shall come and collect.
WANT TO VOLUNTEER?
We would LOVE to have you on board with volunteering on collection days, the day looks roughly like this- 10am collect food waste buckets from the 12 households in hay on wye, replace with clean buckets. Head to the compost creation station, empty tumbler into maturation bay. Empty household buckets into tumbler, with carbon. Clean buckets! This job is usually every 3 weeks and only takes a couple hours, if you wanted to offer your hands to this cause then please get in touch.
TUMBLER STATIONS
We would like to spread these tumblers all around and throughout Hay on Wye, creating a mycelium like community of composters! The more tumblers we have, the more memberships we can take, meaning more households in our community can compost their food waste, turning it into living soils and being apart of this movement of saving soils.
We are on the look out and having the conversations with people who have land/ space to host a tumbler for the near future. This would also need access to water to clean the buckets, and space for maturation bays. If you know someone who would be happy to host please send them our way!
